Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) slammed the move by House Democrats to pass immigration reform bills as migrants continue to flood the southern border.
“Twice the Democrats blocked it. The Democrats don’t want to solve immigration. That’s what’s going on now. They don’t want to solve the problem,” Scott said. “What proposal do they have to solve this problem? None.”
During a press briefing at the border in Cochise, Arizona on Friday, Scott joined Gov. Doug Ducey (R-Ariz.) and border officials to discuss the humanitarian crisis.
Today, AZ Gov @dougducey & I saw firsthand the humanitarian crisis along the Southern border, caused by @POTUS’s disastrous policies of open borders & amnesty. It’s time he takes action on this dangerous crisis to keep Americans safe & SECURE THE BORDER: https://t.co/wFe4o8bH2M pic.twitter.com/T0HFEpahqi

Scott took aim at the House for their part in escalating the surge.
In the meantime, Ducey criticized the Biden administration for imposing relaxed border policies being used by cartels to coerce more migrants to seek amnesty in the U.S.

“There was a policy that allowed them to do that but didn’t incent them to come across the border to do that. That’s what’s changed, that’s what the cartels talk about the marketing arm of our federal government driving this migration that’s happening from the Northern Triangle, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala,” Ducey stated. “The numbers are rising. We’re not used to these types of reported numbers in February.”
The Arizona governor added he is trying to deal with officials within the federal government to lessen the humanitarian need in Arizona.
